POLICE SCENARIO TRAINING

Emphasizing hands-on, interactive and multi scenario-based situations that are designed to simulate real life stress and circumstances encountered in the field. Lead instructor of these simulations Sgt. Kendall Kretzschmer of the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office along with Livingston Regional SWAT Team.

SCHOOL BASED DRUG & CONCEALMENT TRENDS

This session will provide the ability, knowledge and confidence to help prevent and identify students who may be abusing drugs and/or alcohol. Strategies and different terms that are consistent with student alcohol & drug abuse will be reviewed and several identifiers, logos and terms that are commonly related to drug (illegal and over the counter) and alcohol abuse, marijuana abuse, and drug concealment at school.

NASHVILLE METRO 2023 COVENANT SHOOTING

On March 27, 2023 a shooter entered the Covenant School in Nashville TN intent on murdering students. Join Commander Scott Bryad as he shares the 30,000’ view as the On-Scene Incident Commander and Detective Michael Collazo as he shares the 3’ view as someone who had direct contact with the suspect.

RECENT SOCIAL MEDIA TRENDS
Review changes and updates to all leading social media platforms, provide key information for SS/TA teams on recent online threat trends, language, and new ways that students communicate online.

INTERACTIVE SCENARIOS
Participants will work through simulated challenges—such as family crises, student safety issues, and community-school partnerships—practicing the skills needed to navigate complex situations.

SEXTORTION JORDAY DeMAY - CASE STUDY

On March 25, 2022, 17-year-old Jordan DeMay killed himself after being sextorted for five and a half hours by Nigerian actors. The investigation led to the arrest, extradition, conviction and sentencing of the suspects in federal prison. The presentation of this case will cover the following:
Background of the victim and suspects | Death investigation | Preservation of digital evidence; Digital investigation | Importance of collaboration and communication | Media releases | Why this case was successful | Prevention of sextortion | Law enforcement response to sextortion

Scheduled activities will begin at 9:00 AM on Monday and end at 4:00 PM on Wednesday. The fee for the conference includes classes, student materials, breaks and some meals. Registration information is will become availible under the Conference tab.

Participants who attend all registered classes will receive a certificate of completion at the conclusion of their last session.
